Great Lakes Yacht Club

Naval Station, Great Lakes

March 2018

Firstly I have sad news. Linda Klietz has passed away after battling cancer for quite a while. The services have already taken place.

Our next meeting will be on Saturday, March 17. We have a special treat this time as we will be having a tour of the Naval Museum at the base. The museum entrance is located outside the secured area so you will not need a pass to get in. We will meet at the museum entrance which is located on the east side of the Badge & Pass (Visitors Center) parking lot at 16:00. After the tour we will make our way individually to the Full Moon restaurant located just south of Buckley Rd on Rt. 41. The meeting will be in a larger room so we can all sit at one long table this time.

Please be ready to renew your membership at this time. Debbie Schnadt is our new secretary and she will take care of this.

The harbor opens on May 1 this year. There will not be an option to launch early by crane in April as in the past.

By the time of our next meeting many of you will be in the water so, good luck with spring commissioning, and hope see you all at the meeting.
